Yogi's 6th b-day!

Yogi's birthday

Since this is my first blog, I just wanted to write about my dog's 6th birthday. This may not seem like a big deal to anybody, but this dog has really influenced my life. He came to us at 17 months old. He was chained in the back of someone's yard and was abused and starved. He was afraid if everything and everyone. Everytime someone came up to him, he would cower in the corner. But we loved him anyway. And 4.5 years later, he is an amazing dog. He runs around with his brother and sister in the yard, chases squirrels while resting his chin on the window sill, and pounces at me when I take them on walks. He is a true testament to strength because he endured so much pain and fear, and yet acts so silly and loving towards everyone. He frequently approaches strangers on walks which makes me think that if his previous owner knew what an amazing dog they could have had, would they have still abused and starved him? Happy Birthday Yogi! :)

  1. That is a great way to look at it Liz. You may not know this about me, but I absolutely love dogs. My dog Drake is a great dane/lab mix who I may often refer to as a big dumb animal, but he's my big dumb animal. My wife and I actually adopted him when he was about 2 months old from a shelter ourselves. We think he was abandoned on the side of the road somewhere, but we aren't sure. He's amazing as well, and now that you bring it up, it does make you think...did this person know what an amazing animal this was when they just cast it aside or abused it? Unbelievable.
